Overview
The virtuosos of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra take to the floor with Sydney Dance Company for a Latin-inspired display.
The scene is set with intense, steamy tangos by Piazzolla and the sultry sound of a solo cello. Hear and see unbridled passion and the mingling of bodies locked in dance. Sarasate provides an adrenaline rush with his thrilling ‘Spanish Dance’ featuring two violins. Frenchman Bizet has to prove he can be more Spanish than the Spanish! Then Piazzolla is back with his own take on Vivaldi’s Four Seasons – more Buenos Aires than Venice. And fellow Argentinean Alberto Ginastera wraps things up with entertaining music in which everyone gets a solo!
Sydney Dance Company joins Sydney Symphony Orchestra on stage for ‘music made visible’ in a seductive physical realisation of Piazzolla’s Le Grand Tango.
