Marco Cher-Gibard
Marco Cher-Gibard is an composer and artist using sound to explore contemporary culture, experience and expression.
His work to date include includes numerous compositions and sound designs for performance contexts and an ongoing interests in electronic improvisation and socially engaged practice. His award wining work for theatre and dance has been presented internationally by LIFT Festival (UK), Vienna Festwochen (Austria), Holland Festival (Holland), Theatre der Welt (Germany) and Melbourne International Arts Festival (Australia), amongst others.
Recent activities include a 3 month residency in Beijing researching ‘sonic portraiture’ from human and animal subjective perspectives and new work for Paea Leach & Alexandra Harris (The Difficult Comedown 2019) and Lilian Steiner (Memoir for Rivers and the Dictator 2019).
Marco has composed for New Breed previously with Sian Law (Epic Theatre 2016) and Cass Mortimer-Eipper and Nelson Earl (The Bell Jar 2017).
