Biography

Born and raised in Wollongong NSW, Lucy began her training when she was eight years old at Joanne Grace School of Dance. She began her full-time dance training in 2017 and completed her Certificate IV in Dance, as well as being awarded her Solo Seal through the Royal Academy of Dance at age 15.

Lucy joined The Sarasota Ballet in Florida, USA as a trainee for their 2018-2019 season. At the end of 2019, she performed in The International Divertissement Gala with Projection Dance under the direction of Tim Podesta, as well as being a finalist in The International Contemporary Dance Prix.

Lucy joined Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year in 2021 and 2022 and completed her Diploma of Dance. Through those years of training, she was fortunate to perform works by James Bachelor, Cloé Fournier, Stephanie Lake’s Colossus and Rafael Bonachela’s Frame of Mind, 2 in D Minor & ab [intra].

Lucy commenced a traineeship with Sydney Dance Company at the end of 2022, in which she premiered with the company in Rafael Bonachela’s ab [intra] at DanceX. She performed in New Breed 2022 in Sophia Ndaba’s The Veil of Separation and Charmene Yap’s Drunk Tank Pink. Throughout the traineeship in 2023 with the Company, she performed both nationally and internationally in a diverse contemporary dance repertoire including works by Rafael Bonachela, Antony Hamilton and Marina Mascarell. A highlight for the year was performing at The Sydney Opera House in Sydney Dance Company’s Ascent. Lucy performed in the tenth anniversary of New Breed in Eliza Cooper’s Revenge Tales and Romance and Beau Dean Riley Smith’s Gubba. Lucy then joined the Company for their European tour of Ascent and Impermanence in March 2024, as well as being involved with the Company’s collaboration with The Australian Chamber Orchestra for their program Silence & Rapture.
