George Gorga
George Gorga was named Best Live Sound Engineer at the Australian Music Industry Awards in 1991. George was soon in demand to record and mix and, in some cases, produce the music of several top performers. Numerous examples include Let’s Get Together), Jimmy Barnes, Margaret Urlich & Stylus (A Slice of Soul) and Midnight Oil.
He began working as a Sound Designer on projects such as Sweeney Todd (MTC); Sanctuary Cove Opening with Frank Sinatra and Peter Allen; Carols by Candlelight and various Australia Day spectaculars. His Live Television Events include the ARIA Awards and The Footy Show Grand Final. Recent projects include World Youth Day and the Papa Mass at Randwick and Live Earth Concert. Work with Sydney Dance Company includes Rafael Bonachela’s 360° and we unfold and Aszure Barton’s Sid’s Waltzing Masquerade.
