Biography

Amelia (Milly) was born and raised in Sydney, Australia.

She embarked on her dance journey at a very young age, moving to the renowned Village Performing Arts Centre, aged seven. She studied all genres of dance until her passion for ballet led her to audition and be accepted with a scholarship into the McDonald College, where she combined her academic studies with her ballet training through her secondary education.

An integral member of the ballet cohort, she received junior and senior ballet scholarships and performing in principal roles including the Lilac Fairy and Giselle.  In her final two years she undertook electives with The Sydney Dance company in the contemporary program where contemporary dance emerged as her new passion.

Milly joined the Pre-Professional Year program (PPY) with Sydney Dance Company, completing an Advanced Diploma of Professional Dance. She explored the many facets of contemporary dance through the broad creative avenues PPY offers, including working with esteemed choreographers, teachers and individual repertoire works and improvisation pieces she worked on during the program.

Milly has had the privilege of creating works and performing repertoire by renowned choreographers including Rafael Bonachela, Charmene Yap, Francis Rings, Prue lang, Miranda Wheen, Melissa Toogood and Lisa Marie McDonald.
