We spoke to siblings Gabi, Paige and Jake about their experiences at Sydney Dance Company this Spring while they were participating in the 10-11years Contemporary Dance 2-day course.

What do you love about dance?

Gabi: I love that there is a lot of different styles and there’s always something new to learn and it’s just really fun.
Paige: I like all the different teachers and how they all bring their different personalities to the classes.
Jake: I like how it’s a really fun way to exercise and I love jazz and hip hop.

What do you like about Sydney Dance Company?

Paige: I love that by the last day I feel excited to dance in front of my friends in the studio.
Gabi: I love how all the teachers are really professional. They teach us great warm ups and lots of really great choreography and routines.
Jake: I like how there is such a variety of styles and the teachers are really welcoming.

If you had to tell your friends about Sydney Dance Company what would you tell them?

Paige: It’s really fun! And you can book in to a workshop in any style that you like, so there’s always something that you’ll enjoy.
Gabi: The workshops are really great no matter what level you’re at – it’s challenging but still lots of fun.
Jake: It would be fun for anyone even if they haven’t danced before!

Why did you choose Sydney Dance Company workshops for your children?

Lisa: It’s hard to find workshops for school holidays that the kids all want to do. During the holidays we don’t want to pay for babysitting, we want to know they’re getting something out of their time. At Sydney Dance Company they’re being taught by professionals and they’re enjoying themselves while gaining skills at the same time.

Would you recommend the workshops to other parents?

Lisa: Absolutely! It’s great value for money, the kids all really love the workshops, they’re learning something new and most importantly they come out with a big smile on their faces at the end of the day.
