Designed specifically if you’ve never danced before or want to extend your practice, these courses will help you get the most from our adult dance classes.
Overview
To make sure that you enjoy and get the most from our dance class program, we suggest that you take an Introduction Short Course before you begin attending beginner level classes.
Course fee:
$120 for 4 week course
$195 for 5 week course
$225 for 8 week course
$415 for 16 week course
A maximum of 30 people in each class ensures individual attention.
Please note, if you miss a class in the course, you can’t retake it or request a credit or refund.

FAQ
Sydney Dance Company’s short introduction courses are for adults 16 years and over who have never danced or have limited dance experience.
Wear casual dance wear, something that you already have and feel comfortable in E.G. Dance tights and top, leotard and tights with skirt or shorts over the top, track pants and t-shirt/singlet top. For Jazz and Hip Hop bring jazz shoes or sneakers and for Contemporary and Lyrical bring ballet flats or cotton socks, or dance bare foot.
We do not provide refunds or credits for change of mind or other personal circumstances. We can provide a credit note if the cancellation is due to a medical reason and a medical certificate is provided. Please note: there are no makeup classes, credit notes or refunds for missed sessions.
Do I need to be double vaccinated to attend an Adult Short Course? No. As of 11 March 2022, proof of vaccination (or medical exemption) is no longer required to enter the Wharf Studios.
What do I do if I have any of the following symptoms: cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath or have been in contact with another person who has recently tested positive for COVID-19?
Please do not come to the Studios. Get tested, wait for a negative result and adhere to any self-isolation guidelines from the NSW Government before you return to the Studios.
Dance classes can involve risk of personal injury. While Sydney Dance Company takes all reasonable care in the conduct of its classes, it accepts no responsibility for injury or loss caused during classes or whilst participants are at or near the dance studio. You are responsible for ensuring that you are physically and medically fit for the class and during the class you must at all times take care of your own personal safety. If an advertised teacher is suddenly unavailable, due to circumstances beyond our control, a replacement teacher with similar attributes and qualifications will be employed.
