“Every time that I saw these students engaging with the company in school workshops, auditions, and intensives my admiration grew, and I wondered how we could supplement this with a more in-depth experience. The Pre-Professional Year course has gone from strength to strength since its inception and I am so proud to see the incredible talent of so many young dancers whose potential has been unlocked and nurtured as a result of full-time industry training. A measure of the success of this course, and one that I personally take great pleasure and pride in, is the varied roles and accomplishments of the graduates who have gone on to achieve great things over the course of the past five years. From international job opportunities through to creating new independent works and roles within Sydney Dance Company, the graduates are far reaching in their contribution to the international contemporary dance industry.”
